Sharavanabhava in ragam Shanmukhapriya
Clarinet or clarionet is not an Indian instrument. Natarajan is originally a graded vocalist. He learnt Nadaswaram, but i think never played any concerts. Natarajan adapted clarinet to suit carnatic style of playing and mastered it. He was given may awards and rewards. He bever worried about them and continued palying the instrument with all the love to it. It is not out of place if I tell that I on behalf of All India Radio invited him to Hyderabad arranged a concert in Tyagaraja Ganasabha. I remember Kamalakara rao playd mridangam that day. I was in Tirumala for covering brahmotsavams and that year Natarajan was there palying clarinet on invitation from TTD. We were together all through teh feast.
